How Crew Salary calculates salary comparisons
Everyone is curious about how their pay compares to others with similar positions and how the market values their skills. This is how Crew Salary collects salary profiles from Crew around the world, enabling us to produce statistically accurate, individualized salary reports on crew positions.
The Crew Salary Survey
Our Salary Survey is an online survey that asks questions about salary, experience and Qualification. Individuals searching online for salary comparison information complete the Salary Survey in order to get a free personalized Crews Salary Report. This report anonymously compares individuals to other people with similar attributes such as position, location,
type of yacht and qualification.
The Salary Report that you get as a result of completing the our Salary Survey is a reflection of Typical Pay structure in the yachting industry.
Our Data
Data Collection
The data in your report has been collected by Crew salary. We collect both crew data through the Crew Salary Survey and employer data from JF Recruiting crew agency.
Data Integrity
The Crewsalary.com is the first online salary survey and provider of salary information for yacht crew. There are no offers, payments, or other incentives made to encourage participation.
Each new profile that is submitted to Crew Salary must pass through a rigorous filtering process before it can be added to our active database. Duplicate entries are eliminated and all unusual profiles are reviewed by our team before being included in the database.
Data Analysis
Our data analysis methodology is designed to avoid erroneous inference assumptions by only reporting actual data. Unlike other salary surveyors we don't use salary data from one geographic location to estimate what salaries should be in another location. We do not blend multiple sources of data into a single report or artificially age our data. We only report data that we have collected and approved.
- We never modify or blend profile data.
- We never apply inflation.
- We never estimate salaries from one region to another.
A Cew Salary Report must be based on a minimum of 5 profile matches. If we can't find at least 5 profile matches for a position, then we consider the number of data points insufficient to provide a meaningful representation of the market and we will not produce a report.
